2023 Para Surf League Tour Kicks of in South Africa

The 2023 Tyrelife Solutions SA Para Surf Champs and Para Surf League Open powered by Ocean Freedom Starts in just 3 days in Muizenberg South Africa.



This competition is a partnership with Surfing South Africa and is both the South African Para Surfing Championships and the first stop of the Para Surf League Global tour. This contest will also be the first ever Para Surfing Continental Zone Championships.


The Para Surf League event schedule includes stops in the USA, Costa Rica, Spain, France, and Wales, with the final Global Championships location yet to be determined.


This first of its kind contest in South Africa will feature 60 athletes from the African Continent and international athletes from around the globe, including countries like France, Wales, the United States, and more. With this being a Surfing South Africa sanctioned event, all South African athletes competing will be eligible for selection for Team South Africa.

We are proud to showcase the incredible skills and determination of our para-athletes, and to witness the remarkable progress and growth of the sport." Said Roxy Davis the founder of the Roxy Davis Foundation.


"We are excited to work with our partners in Africa and around the world to help in the effort to propel Para Surfing into the Paralympics. By helping organize these combined National and Continental Zone contests we check off more boxes of what is required for Paralympic inclusion of Para Surfing. This will be an ongoing needeven if we make it into the LA28 Paralympics." said Dana Cummings, the Founder of the Para Surf League and AmpSurf.
